American Fanfare (1999)

for orchestra

duration: 2’

Recently performed by the L.A. Phil at their Hollywood Bowl Opening Concert in 2013

Upcoming performance with the Dallas Symphony at their summer series in Vail, Co

Other performances by Cleveland Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, to name a few. American Fanfare was chosen to open the new concert hall for the Omaha Symphony in 2005

The American Fanfare was originally written for a celebratory occasion for a church in Naples, Florida. At the encouragement of Erich Kunzel, it was scored for full orchestra in 1999, and later went on to win the Florida Orchestra fanfare competition that same year.

In 2006, Commander David Alpar commissioned the concert band version. This spirited and energetic fanfare makes for a exuberant opener to either half of a concert.
