Words and Music

Editor, Daily News:

The Barron Collier High School spring band concert was really incredible.

Congratulations to all the talented and disciplined students.

And thanks to the Daily News for the excellent story about the band's trip to China. Kathleen Coulter did a great job of sharing the trip with your readers.

The highlingt of the concert was the world premier of the original composition by local musician James Stephenson. His music, based on Chinese folk songs, was brilliant and performed to perfection by the hundreds of musicians.

Hopefully they will make a CD of it. I would like to hear it many more times and share it with friends.
